Elizabeth Langley is a self-taught artist based in Tucson, Arizona. I’ve been painting with oils for three decades, delving into portraits, still lifes, cityscapes, store fronts, and most recently – interior spaces. I use single-point perspective to pull the viewer into the piece, painting several layers in a photorealistic style while dabbling with Art Deco lines and colors. I’m currently designing a series of paintings that will explore arguments around equal pay initiatives throughout American history while using the art style of each era, emphasizing the painfully slow process. I endeavor to focus future artistic work on raising consciousness around feminist issues and highlighting solutions to social problems.
